Mother and Child

Sandvik’s parental guidance program publishes books and websites to help those who have recently become parents.

The books are produced to boost parents’ confidence and to provide information about child development and helpful tips and advice in areas where parents most often need assistance. Currently, the program includes the following offerings:

Pregnancy and parenting sites: Babyverden.no, Babyvärlden.se, Vau.fi, liliput-lounge.de

One of Norway’s leading web sites for expectant mothers and new parents. The web site contains more than 6000 articles about pregnancy, birth and child development, and offers many more functions, including frequently asked questions, a discussion forum and extensive information about fertility. The goal of the web site is to answer any questions a family might have about children and to forge a community of like-minded recent and soon-to-be parents

Svangerskapsboken (Pregnancy Diary)

Svangerskapsboken (Pregnancy Diary) is distributed by doctors and midwives to the majority of pregnant women in Norway. The book is free of charge as it is financed by advertisements. Svangerskapsboken contains information about each week of pregnancy, and has sections for both the mother and the father.

Spebarnsboken (The Baby Book)

Spebarnsboken (The Baby Book) has been published since 1965 and is reviewed and updated annually. It is available free of charge at most Norwegian hospitals, and contains answers to many practical questions a mother or father may have in connection with the new-born child. The book is free of charge.
